Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Hello,
I'm Steve, should be picking up my first M91/30 on Tuesday. It is an 1930 Izhevsk M91/30 with matching serial numbers in the 5000's. Looks like its in pretty decent shape. I'll check back in after I get all the cosmoline off and get it cleaned up. When I get it torn down I'll take picture of all the marks and stamps (There are a bunch). The stock has a stamp that looks like the Tula star and a 43 (maybe it was refurbished or had the stock replaced by Tula in '43?).
Looks like a great forum to research the history of these great guns. Looking forward to cleaning up and firing this great piece of history.

Well, seeing as I have to prove that I am a real person...
I am in my early 20's and I mostly interested in the treasure trove of Mosin information that is available here. I am not exactly new to Mosins, but one can never have enough information on them.

As long as it is capable of serving its purpose, it will never be obsolete.

Checking in as directed when one joins the forum. Purchased my first Mosin on Saturday - 91/30 Hex from Tula. Also picked up the Spam Can of surplus 7.63 x 54 ammo; need to find a place to shoot some off, but very happy to own this weapon. Looking forward to future advice from the experts!

Welcome to the board, 95% of all the Soviet 91/30's we see here are post WW2 refurbished rifles with the usual mix of parts, that stock would be one such.sandersny14 wrote:Hello,

Hello everyone, i`m M39 Shooter. as my name implies i have several M39 rifles and enjoy shooting them . I also have a 1938 Tula Hex receiver 91/30 that i believe the Finn`s got ahold of by the markings and characteristics of it. I look forward to participating in this forum and hopefully learning more about these wonderful rifles.
