M39 Feed Problem
Here's one for the fixit guys. My Finn M39 will not allow the next round to pop up in position so the bolt can push it into the chamber. I must take a wooden "hunky" stick and press the lever on the port side of the receiver to allow it to pop up into position. It is not the bolt as I switched bolts with the same result. Help please!! Is it an easy fix/adjustment or am I in serious trouble? Thanks for any help.

Is the ejector (white arrow in picture) sticking up like the one in the picture?

Yes, it is protruding the same as another rifle that feeds correctly.

I would be looking at the ejector and the interrupter. Make sure they're installed correctly and that there's no obstructions behind them. Also make sure they're clean and where they're mounted is clean and the screw is tight. Pictures like I posted might help. Also make sure the magazine follower under the rounds is working properly.Luthierseye wrote:Yes, it is protruding the same as another rifle that feeds correctly.

Thanks! I'll take it down tomorrow and check those points. More later; either positive or negative.
Re: M39 Feed Problem
while you have it out of the stock stick the action back toghther and see if it feeds got a pat burns m39 the the interupter was digging into the wood where the postwar stock wasn't quite inlet properly..............
Re: M39 Feed Problem
Take the magazine out, and drop the floorplate. See if the rounds drop thru smoothly. I have had a M39 magazine that was squished together slightly causing rounds to bind feeding up. If the rounds hang up dropping down, take a rod or screwdriver and put a towel or cotton ball over the end to prevent gouging. Then very gently pry apart until the rounds drop thru smooth. And check the interuptor and take it out and clean out the slot it goes thru. Mine has gotten gunked up once and the interuptor didnt get pushed back.

Thanks to all for the help. I found the culprit: the screw holding the interrupter was loose. She's feeding fine now. Back to the range next week for a shootout between the Finn and the '33 Izhevsk Hex.
