My VEPR 12 with range report

Post by 81turbota »

Hey all,
This is my EBS - evil black shotgun. *Barely* legal here in CA.

I bought it from Atlantic firearms a day before the AK buying spree of mid July started. It's one mean machine! Right out of the box, I was very impressed with fit and finish. It didn't like anything but 1500+ FPS high brass ammo for the first 50 or so rounds, now it will shoot cheapo 1325 FPS 00. I haven't tried cycling low brass or birdshot, this is a combat shotgun. The magazine well is a wonderful difference to the Saiga 12, it's closest competitor. The factory Molot grip is superb, as is the factory folding stock and RPK hand guards. The stock is held in place with a 1/4 tack weld, easily removable, but if I did it would be an AW here in CA.

I mounted a truglo 8380 sight on it, which I zeroed at 50 yards. Holds zero so far, nice choice of 4 reticles in 2 colors.

The bolt will lock back after the last round with the factory 5 round molot magazine, but not the 10 round SGM mags.

I plan on putting a 3" door breach muzzle brake and vertical front hand grip. Maybe a flashlight.

For the price I paid, I'm thrilled!
