Guys, again my apologies for breaking the rules on posting a live auction. I will refrain going forward. It was a learned lesson though in learning just how rare, and how speculative these rifles can be.
On a side note, I saw the exact s/n rifle and language listed on Armslist Sunday morning. It was for sale for $2,000. Sounds like a deal to me. It must have been reported to Armslist as the listing disappeared soon after.
Looking forward to Washington County (PA) show on Saturday.

Spirit with a vision is a dream, with a mission... RIP Neil Peart
The auction did have a bit of help to begin with, and more power to him; but SteveK did let it be known months ago on Gunboards that this rifle was going up for auction. The heavy hitters on this auction have been sitting back waiting for this auction to happen. This was not a rifle that was going to fly under anybody's radar. Congrats to Sparky on his win!
Suomen Ampumatarviketehdas ("Ammunition Factory of Finland") or SAT was a short-lived private company located in town of Riihimäki. It manufactured mainly rifle ammunition, apparently of quite poor quality. The company folded in the 20's and its factory and some machinery was purchased by SAKO in 30.9.1927. SAKO moved from its inadequate facilities in Helsinki to Riihimäki already in late 1927 and has existed there ever since.

The Google Translate has a Finnish speech synthesizer which does a pretty good job IMO. Just write the text you want to hear, set the language to Finnish and hit the "Listen" button.

Thank you! That is a tidbit of information that I was not aware of.
GOOD RIDDANCE LGR!! If there isn't a gun range in heaven, then I'm going to hell.
Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA - ordinary citizens don't need guns, as their having guns doesn't serve the State. Heinrich Himmler

same as all the other RVs. The SAT was completely different animal.
May be but no way to know for sure till one goes up for auction. There are less 91rv's out there than 27rv's but the 27's have more distinct features like the bent knurled bolt that should make them more desirable. So even with less numbers a 91 may go for less than the recent 27 auctions. Anyhow, I bet all of us now have that circled SAT stamp imprinted in our brain and will be on the lookout at every shop and show we go to from now on.

Everyone does now.....but hopefully everyone else doesn't know what a St. Petersburg Cavalry School Carbine looks like....hey I can dream right?

Gurn- I've never seen one of these for sale via auction, so take what I say with a grain of salt
91rv's are misunderstood, and with that comes market uncertainty. If I were to pull a price range out of my arse, I'd say $3000 - $5000. Meaning in 27rv range to $1500 above. Put it up for auction and someone may well pay more! You just never know.

What, I have Teddy Roosevelt's personal gun. At least that's what the seller told me!
