Italian Carcano 91/28 ts

Just got this beautiful Carcano 91/28, which I thought would go for around 350 to 400, but I surprisingly got a good deal. I really wonder why more people didn't bid, maybe because a picture wasn't showing unless you clicked on it?

That is in great condition.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I could see all 7 photos clearly without clicking anything, $300 is a good price for him to get. This is exactly the carbine that I was handed in 1996 and told to just take because nobody would pay for it anyway. Carcanos and Arisakas are valued today, but not so long ago they still suffered from lingering WW2 prejudices. I had just bought ten rifles from the guy and was prepared to buy the Carcano when I saw him haul it out, before I could make an offer he just handed it to me and tells me to take it away, then moved on to the next item for sale. This is a very handy little carbine, one of the lightest, and well made.

Why not? They are as good as any military rifle, maybe not as fancy as the Mauser, but they get the job done. I would think from what I have heard of the European gun market that the cheap price would make them attractive .

If you go on gunbroker, and find a Carcano ts that's in good shape, all matching, all original, and has pictures showing if you don't click on the auction, it would probably go for somewhere around 350-400. I have even seen some go for more than that.

I have no idea... Italian people are in fact the only one's who buy them here. But they always have troubles to get them in their country.

I also have a few pieces but ammo is expensive. So we reload them :D
