Re: Mosin Nagant Roll Call
You could ask, and I have a good idea, but that number remains classified and subject to constant change
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

"Lord, I don't ask for a faith that would move yonder mountain.
I can take enough dynamite and move it, if it needs movin'.
I pray, Lord, for enough faith to move me."

I think we screwed up the count sequence on the first page, dropping 200 Mosins. I just wanted to point that out. But i'll pick up where the last post left off.

So Jim, you don't have these listed in a data-base or spreadsheet where you can keep a handle on them?Junk Yard Dog wrote:I been at it a long time Ron, shit adds up after awhile, it's easy keeping count of the rifles I collected by date, but I get lost once I try to add up the MO rifles DDR rifles, extra dates I bought "just because" 1930-1940 Tula and Izhevsk, thats 22 rifles right there, I skipped the '41 Tula, but 1941-1944 adds seven more, then all the ex dragoon years, and I have doubles of most of them. and so on. The final figure is probably closer to 130 counting even the parts bubba M91, and all the type 53's. It's called Mosinitis, don't worry, you will get thereRongoman wrote:Dang!Junk Yard Dog wrote:You made me stay up late doing math, I give up, some will be left out but the hell with it, I can't remember

I hope the Feds aren't watching....Of course it remains to be seen what will happen once SWMBO realizes just how many Mosins were sneaked by her
That reminds me, I need to get my funeral suit pressed.

And no, I don't plan on buying any more. I have other specimens in my sights. If I happen upon a 91/30 PU sniper, I'll grab it due to THAT sniper, but I'm looking at a Chinese SKS or Springfield M1 next.

Most of my stuff was acquired before home PC's became a normal thing, or in some cases were even thought of. I have the bound book of course for the more recent stuff, and I have the others written down in other books, but at the moment I don't know what I did with any of them. I know pretty much what I have, but it's the extras that get me, I have rifles I bought just because of a marking, or because they were real cheap, I confuse them all the time. I was buying stuff so fast back in '07-08 that in some cases I pulled the rifle out of it's shipping box, gave it a one minute once over, sprayed it with cosmo and shoved it back in the box were it still is.
