WHO RELOADS FOR THERE M27?

Post by Steve The Pirate »

I cleaned up the chamber a little more on mine. She'll chamber surplus now. It' not "D" stamped. I'm thinking .308 dia bullets. Will slug the barrel to see what
I get. Just curious on what everybody loads there's. Thanks Dave

I kind of wished I could. My M27 won't shoot surplus ammo at all. Well, actually, it shoots, it just won't eject with out help. :)

I chambered one of my one of my dummy reloads (for c.o.l. ) and worked fine.

Mine had a .310 groove diameter and the original tight 'F' throat.

I found that cheap Remington 125gr .310 bullets worked well with 4895 powder.

I loaded some x54 with .311 150 grain bullets, and shot it in my non-D marked m27. The absence of the D means the throat is not enlarged for the longer, heavy bullets. It has nothing to do with bore diameter. Lighter bullets, and a slightly shorter OAL is the way to go with these rifles. The only way to know for sure the diameter of your bore is to slug it.
