Little north of that, new they are around $3600 for the EP. Very odd set of circumstances regarding this purchase, perhaps one day I will share. Went to Berryville, AR and toured Wilson Combat, met a lawyer... Coincidences abound. The gun is insanely accurate, more accurate than I am. But I have had a few 3 round groups that touched at 7 yards or so. Very different gun than my Rem R1S. Been wanting a high end 1911 for a while, fate, the stars, lunar tide, hell I don't know, but was able to purchase a gun way out of my price range.

My third meeting of 'gun people'. So far, have met some outstanding folks.

I will try to call you this weekend, quite a story behind this purchase. Except for a hat I bought while at the WC factory and a few small parts, Wilson Combat is normally nowhere near my budget.

Yeah I get that. I called them during the beginning of the ammo panic to add them to gun-deals because they actually had ammo in stock. Seem like nice enough guys and when I told them I'm in North Louisiana they told me to stop by if I'm ever up that way. Since they're all the way up in the top left side of Arkansas that's not likely to happen anytime soon. If I ever go up that way on a road trip I'd have to stop in after going to Oklahoma and see Sam and Lala though. I'd love to do some shooting with him. Sam has some really neat stuff. I should be here all weekend. I was just down on the pond floating around killing what's left of the Lotus. I think we got that one licked.

I know those are top-o-the-line pistols, but what is up with the finish on the slide? I hope that is just the photo.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

The guy that sold it to me oiled it up very well. The finish is 'Armor Tough' I think they call it. Looks much better cleaned up and in person. The guy I bought it from has like 5 or 6 WC handguns, so Imagine he oils them more than I do, as it would be a bit hard to shoot 5 or 6 1911's on a regular basis.

Pretty impressive place, and they are expanding majorly. Their new gun 'safe' is pretty impressive. Looked like a good place to work, the gunsmith part was closed when I was there, but the employees we dealt with seemed to like their jobs.

I like the Tripp Cobra mags for my WC... Just don't tell the folks in Berryville. Just got a leather lined OWB holster from Garrett yesterday for classes. Damn fast, no kydex wear on high end gun. Leather wear does not bother me.

A bit OT, but I lost enough gut to carry IWB with my Shield without buying fat man pants. Loving it. :D
