Well I did it again--I think I got a problem

Post by Tennessee_Mosin »

Houston,I think I have a problem.

Well I was tooling around on Gunbroker seeing if there was any deals.Watched this one for a couple of days put in a bid last night at work with 45 seconds left, and guess what now I own another T53.

I know a bunch of you don't care for them but they really grow on you.I just don't know why? Probably because I am so cheap.

I think Rongo's family picture of his carbines affected me.

Click here for the results did I do ok? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =418897481 :pointleft:

More pics when it comes in.

You have no problems, neither do I, you wouldn't believe the sob story I just heard, trust me, you have no problems, buy away .

The purchase price is almost funny. The T-53 is cool and I like the sharp arsenal markings. Good buy and congratulations.

I don't see any problem. I'm waiting patiently to get my T53 this summer on one of our road trips. They may be beat up and what not but I think that's their unique charm. I was kinda looking at them sideways for a while but after doing the initial de-greasing/cleaning of my friends last year, I found that I really liked them for just that reason.

Oh, ok, good. You don't really have a problem, just a minor concern. Now think about this for a second. You get your nice dark rugged model 53 in the mail, check headspace, all parts in place, bolts tight, run a patch through it and off to the range. You pull it out and set it on the sandbag, pull out a stripper clip, let it sit for a minute while any gazers or plastic fantastic guys look and snicker, then BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! Then check the crowd. Nothing but fascination! Respect for the BOOM. THE FIREBALL. The dynamite in a small package. Heck yeah, and all for 77 bucks plus shipping. Oh yeah, you got no problem. Life is good. Congrats on a super nice looking example of the t53. It even has some rack number paint remnants on the stock. This is a real milsurp. A real one! :P:P

I think you did well. Stocks are always a little beat up. The metal, stampings and bluing are very nice on this one. Little anxious on the seller's description of the bore. Hopefully it is ok. Clean it, shoot it, clean it hot and you should be all set. I'm just saying that.... haven't seen the bore yet but... good luck. Nice buy

I love my T53. And it doesn't have the bonus of markings yours have on the stock. Sweet.

I think you did great! What's not to like? That Type 53 has what I consider to be really decent wood. I have seen Type 53 wood much, much worse.

That is an unusual T 53. That is he only one I have seen with a WWII wartime stock on it.

No rear sling escutcheon and just a partial insert in the front one. These did come from the Balkans after all so I'm sure there's a few old Russian stocks laying around over there. You did real good. What other rifle of this caliber could you buy for that money? Yeah you did fine and no you don't have a problem.....yet!!

Yea I here you, all my money goes straight into this big black safe.It is probably on it's last leg but I can't imagine how many 1000's of dollars has went through it feeding all 7 of us living here at home. :D

I could have the biggest Mosin collection in the USA if I did not have to fill up this safe every week. :|

Look at the big pot it is full of chicken stew that we cooked last night.3 1/2 gallons. We eat some then freeze the rest.

It is Thursday and almost time to clean out and head to the store on Saturday.
