A Little Beast

Post by cjsimoh »

Taurus PT-22 PLY. Small, reliable, fun. Blow back action with a tip-up barrel. 8+1 rounds. Runs flawlessly with round nose. Hollow points not so much. It likes Winchester Super-X 40gr 1300fps. Can't hit crap with it beyond 25 - 30 feet, but it has a long DAO trigger and a pretty good bark to it when it fires. So I think it will take some getting used to. I just need to get it to the range more often.

I've never heard of anyone being mugged from 25-30 feet away anyway. :D

It's surprising how much kick those little pistols have, with no weight to take up the recoil it all goes to the frame. I fired my friends Ruger LCP 380 and it kicked really hard for a little thing.

I almost purchased that pistol I'm .25 a year ago from a pawn shop but someone beat me to it. Have never seen another.

They are actually fun little pistols and the poly version is an improvement over the older metal models IMO (which are also still available). My shots are mostly going low and to the left, which is typical for me with a new pistol, until I figure it out.

 I used to have a Beretta 21a Bobcat. Essentially the same gun, but with a DA/SA trigger.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
