Hello,
I disassembled my SKS for cleaning and when trying to reassemble it back together i have a problem w/ the trigger group. I reassembled the trigger group to the receiver by pushing it down with the safety on to snap the release tab back in but it never really hold well except when I switch to safety off. I am doing this without stock to eliminate this factor.
Description of problem:
When the safety is on "OFF" position or down, the trigger group is secured down to the receiver and doesn't come off the receiver because the safety is constantly pushing against the little release tab. This make me thing the trigger group is fully pushed down and the trigger group is fully locked by the little release tab.
But when I switch the safety to "ON" or Up and when I pull the trigger Assy it comes off the receiver. While pulling you can see the little release tab moving out releasing the trigger group.
Does the metal leaf from which the little release tab is attached to is supposed to maintain the tab in constant pressure afterward?
I can’t find any thread online for this particular problem.
Need help please.

Re: SKS Trigger group problem
I don't think you have the trigger group far enough forward.
From what your describing the safety is touching the spring clamp that holds the trigger group in place.
Leave the safety UP, when it is lined up right when you push down you will see the little piece BEHIND or outside the trigger housing.
Not inside, not anywhere that the safety could touch. Behind the trigger.

Re: SKS Trigger group problem
The latch is supposed to provide constant clamping force. Sounds like the latch groove is worn, or trigger guard latch hole is distorted. I'd try the latch spring first.

I said I was an addict. I didn't say I had a problem.
