1953 Spanish m48

Post by fintowin »

Another score from the auction I went to. A 1953 Spanish Mauser. This one is pretty nice, with a perfect bore and all matching numbers. Got it really cheap at $150. Can't wait to get it to the range to see what it can do. I have a bunch of 8mm brass and bullets to load up. Also have a bit of Egyptian surplus left.

A friend of mine let me shoot his one day. I'm not sure what kind of ammo he was using, but it packed a punch.

It may have been Turkish. The Turkish ammo I had seemed really hot.

Looks a lot like the one I have been putting back to original. Mine had the stock cut down so I have replaced it.

Very nice, Give us a range report when you can.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Mine finally got out. Shot a nice tight group at 50 yds about 1.5 inches high, right where I would expect it to be. After shooting and cleaning the bore shines better than it did before.
