It looks like the twin to my 1942 91/59, very nice

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Looks great. I like the condition of the wood and finish.
Re: M91/59 Carbine
Thanks, also picked up 400 rounds with the rifle, so I hope to get a round or two downrange soon...Peadog wrote:That's very nice. Congratulations.

Great find!
What did it set you back if you don't mind my asking?
Mine is a 1937 Tula. Looks just like yours. Paid $180.00 back in early 2008. Just wondering how much they have gone up in 6 years.

Well I paid a fair price and wasn't a steal of a deal. You did fine for your 2008 investment, my .02 Cents. If anyone else comes upon one, you may get lucky and procure one at a better price. The current environment dictates these things. The seller was a Milsurp aficionado, he knew what he had. He also had a M38, but was keeping that one. I wanted the rifle so I paid for it. Sum was $275.Head Wound wrote:Great find!![]()

Re: M91/59 Carbine
I remember about the same 2008 time frame and a single 91/59 was on a table at a Dallas gunshow for 159.00 and I passed it up because I figured I could grab another one soon. That was the last time I even came across one again until last year when a local guy listed one on a Texas hunting forum. 275.00 is not a bad price these days for such a nice one as this.
