Mauser bore brush

Post by IH424 »

Picked up my first Mauser the other day, a yugo 24/47. What size bore brush do I use to clean it. I know 8mm is equlivant to .3149. Is a 30 cal brush too small?

Most '30 cal bore brushes will be too small, I use ones intended for my .38/.357 revolvers, they fit well.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Get a .32 caliber brush.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I use the 8mm/.338 brush for that. I also use them on rough bore Mosins that need a good scrub.

Yep, I had forgot about this but I needed to make an order go over a certain amount for free shipping and added one made by Montana-X-treme. It says 8mm/.325/.338 NY-TOUGH on the pack. I'm not familiar with the brand but it was cheap enough.
