Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Hi Mryoder1 here, long time reader of this great forum. I have a great intrest in many military weapons, in the last 4 years I have bought 5 mosin 91/30's and always looking for something special. Thanks for having me as a member, I will have many questions.

Hello everyone, new guy from Texas and Oklahoma. I own one standard Izhevsk 91/30 I purchased from Wideners a couple of weeks ago. Ever since I got it I have been fascinated by the Mosin Nagants. I stocked up on ammo and I am already searching for more Mosins..I have been on a milsurp kick adding a K31 and an M48 to my collection too. Thoroughly addicted!

Hi all, My name is Eric. I bought my first Mosin almost two years ago and with the current turmoil in Eastern Europe, I thought it might be wise to stock up on ammo and another Mosin to add to my collection. The first thing that struck me after cleaning the cosmoline is how much rougher the machining is compared to my first rifle. I fear we're coming to the end of the "good" weapons. It is too bad the sales guy, when he allowed me to inspect the rifle, jammed it back in it's Century arms box and marred the stock with the bayonet at the bottom.
I've not yet had the time to carefully inspect the bore, nor to take it out for a test firing.
Thanks for reading, good day!

That's just a wartime finish on the metal, you will find it on some 1941-1944 built rifles. Welcome to the boardmacruadhi wrote:Hi all, My name is Eric.
