These are the two Marlin Mods 60 I picked up at the Pawn Shop for $130.00 for the pair. One is the Diamond Jubilee I mentioned in a earlier in a post. It had a bad crack in the stock at the wrist that was an easy epoxy fix. It needed a couple of small warn out parts that I found that I had in my Marlin parts draw. Cleaned them up and they seem to work okay. I will know better when they are finished and get them to the range.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
You will see more .22 showing up for sale cheap. Someone goes looking for ammo, can't find it, or when they do it's very expensive. They figure so much for the cheap to shoot rifle and dump them. More for us
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Good, I need a couple of bolt actions to go with my semis.
We bought 2 .22s and 4 shotguns today. One .22 youth size rifle took some chasing down but they couldn't hide from me. It is stamped Hoban Mfg Company Salem Michigan 22s 22ll 22lr. They sold originally for $14.95 in 1945-1950. The real neat thing about these rifles was that they were a prize offered in the back of comic books for selling so many cans of Cloverine Salve. Don't you wish you had prizes like this in books now?
I have a model 60 Marlin complete with the original Tasco scope. I got it for my birthday in 1985. It has never even been loaded much less shot. No reason for that, I just grab something else when headed to the range.

I am spending some time catching up on the small caliber threads and just looked at the after picture of your 2nd model 60. Man that white buttplate spacer really makes it pop with that darker stain. Very nice.
I really like the model 60. I have had them over the years and the only one that stayed in our stable is the version that looks like an M1 Carbine. Gave it to my son on his eighth birthday we still have it and he is now 47!
For that price I would have bought them too. Good deal...

Works for me!

My wife keeps asking how many do you need, and I reply with I only have 5. At $ 100.00 or less I will keep buying them. May need them for bartering some day ya never know.
Guns and ammo may be the currency of the future.
