I guess we will just have to wait & see what happens. I have no control regarding the situation so I ain't gonna lose any sleep over it.

Also, recall the 5.56/223 panic... Prices were hitting a dollar a round... A year later down to .30/rd for brass and still falling. Most panics sort themselves out. People wise up or run out of money.
Re: Russia Halts Soviet Ammo Exports
I agree, I have managed to stock up on most calibres, the only thing I don't have much of is 12 gauge #8 for my skeet shooting, that was scarce for a while a year ago so I picked up the last 200 rounds they had in stock at a Walmart I was at yesterday. If I can find another 200 that will give me enough to finish the winter league.Buckhead wrote:Well we all know all it takes is one of the Scalpers to get on these gun sights and and start a Bull shit roomer like this and the Idiots buyinto it.
Then they all run out and start panic buying. Well I am not buying in to it. I have enough to last a while and even if I didn't I would just sit it out.

Re: Russia Halts Soviet Ammo Exports
Buy low ......sell when it goes high......then buy it back when it goes low again.
Just like the stock market.
Just like AR15 mags a year or so ago. I had 6 of them and they were going for $100 each out here. I sold the 6 at $50 ea. I hardly got the Ad made and posted and they were sold 5 mins later. Now they are back to around $30 again.
I didn't sell mine to make a profit or I would have sold higher. However, I didn't expect them to come back down below $50 either. All of this because of rumors. There are people right now trying to inflate the cost of ammo. If they succeed, they profit. Has nothing to do with Russia, or Ukraine, or the USA.
Don't be suckered.

Chicken Little Come quick the sky is falling!!!!! If you believe it then I have this bridge you might be interested in buying. I saw some spam cans yesterday that were begging becaue the owner of them had jacked the price up on them from last weeks show. When the heck will people ever learn? Bill
Re: Russia Halts Soviet Ammo Exports
I bought another crate of 7.62x54r. Not because of any imaginary shortage, but because I'm like 10 crates behind most of the people here and I was feeling a little under-spammed. Oh, and free shipping.

The news media reports and fails to report whatever will advance its liberal agenda. Don't believe or disbelieve something just because the media tells you to. Im not saying this scare is real or not real, but the media is not the place to go to find truth, that's for sure.dolk wrote:Exactly. For Putin to stop exports is a loss for him, and a big plus for Obama. Don't you think Putin wouldn't know that. Hell yes he would. I can believe it when I see it on the new stations, not form someone pushing an agenda.Genetically Swiss wrote:I would worry less about Putin stopping sending exports and worry more about Obama stopping imports of same.

Interesting, that is the one thing that there was no shortage of in my area. I don't buy that much myself, because that is the one thing I do reload. I usually only shoot Winchester AA's, and really only need to buy a little at a time when some of my older shells are being shot out; but I never noticed any shortage on them around here. (I must admit though, I hadn't been buying 100 round blocks of Remington or Federal in a few years; so they might have been light on that without me noticing.)Mike wrote:the only thing I don't have much of is 12 gauge #8 for my skeet shooting, that was scarce for a while a year ago so I picked up the last 200 rounds they had in stock at a Walmart I was at yesterday. Sure you can believe the news media. Just depends on which one you watch. Stop watching the crap news media stations.
My point was ...... If it is only being presented as a "news story" by some "company" that sells "stuff",and they try to scare you, take it with a grain of salt. Especially if they have a "reason" or are making a profit from scaring you. If it is all over the news and out of Putin's mouth (well, in Russian) then maybe you can believe it. If he had done this (stopped ammo sales to USA), it would have been a "big" story. Everyone would have carried it. That was my point.
The entire world in not against you. You can find the truth, if you look. So don't help them out by spreading rumors, do some work and check it out first.

Re: Russia Halts Soviet Ammo Exports
The best ammo deal in the Western world seems to be the 21.00 cubes of 12 & 20 guage Federal shotgun shells at Walmart. 4 boxes in a cube-100 rds.
Re: Russia Halts Soviet Ammo Exports
What Walmart is that? They've crept up to $28.75 around here!bunkysdad wrote:The best ammo deal in the Western world seems to be the 21.00 cubes of 12 & 20 guage Federal shotgun shells at Walmart. 4 boxes in a cube-100 rds.

I saw the 28.00 Winchester boxes, but the Federal is still 21.00 as of yesterday. Store in Mesquite and Garland Texas. I bet they are all headed that way now that you mention it Mike.

Federal and Winchester are the same price here, always have been. I guess we are being gouged on the Federal. Those other prices are about what I see here, although I haven't seen Winchester White Box in a while, it's all Remington at a few dollars higher.
I was in Cabela's at lunch today, they have all the 9mm, .40, and .45 you could ever want, all at good prices. They are also having a door buster at 8am on Saturday, 1000 round boxes of .22 at $44, limit one. That place is going to look like Walmart on Black Friday, I don't need .22 that badly.

You misunderstand the dynamic there. It's not a liberal agenda, it's a commercial agenda. They want mroe readers/viewers so that they can charge higher prices for advertisments, where they earn their money. So sensationtionalism which sells their product is what they push.fintowin wrote:The news media reports and fails to report whatever will advance its liberal agenda. Don't fall for the rumor that everything is based upon political agendas. Most is based upon good ole fashioned money making.

Looks like we're gonna be bone dry for awhile.
I also found some Czeck 7.62x54r milsurp at my local hardware store so I'm going to give that a try as well.

Went to the LGS today and got a box of Blazer Brass 9mm for 15.99, and a box of Blazer Brass .40 for 19.99.
