Laminated Stock?

Post by Historyfan »

Is this type of rifle a good addition to my fledgling collection? Were any of the Lam Stock rifles actually around during WWII? New guy here looking for answers, so thanks in advance.

Sure you should have one in the collection, Laminated stocks came along on Soviet Mosins late in the war, and are more commonly used as post war replacement stocks put on during the refurb. The Garmans began using laminated stocks on the K98k Mauser in the late 1930's.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Lammys are a nice example I think. If I remember right they started the laminates on the m38 and then on to the m44 during the wartime so some were used in war.

I love striping of the laminate stocks. Here's a pic of my 1945 m44. It is just oozing with character.
