1893 Chatellerault = Arrived Friday

Post by davesstuff1 »

Been cleaning my 1893 Mosin Nagant Chatellerault for the past two days... I had a hard time opening the bolt, because of built up dirt and grime... However it is now one of the cleanest, best fuctioning Mosins in the world!!! The Stock and Hand Guard are the both Walnut, verified by a wood expert... There is no Import Mark... When I took the Stock off I observed a circle with the letter C in it at three locations including the Tang... Grandson and I will test it at the Richmond Hill Range this Monday...

Absolutely awesome. I love it. The older the better. :Drool1: :Drool1: :Drool1:

Serious cleaning needed before that baby goes to the range. Basic rifle looks like it was waiting for the right owner to give it some care and cleaning. Glad it found a good home. Bill :D

Very cool. Someday I would like a Frenchy. The grunge reminds me of an M-39 I got once. Add about three times as much grunge, sand and assorted plant life and it would be close to that rifle. Hopefully, no one has tried to shoot it. As Bill says, get it cleaned up and headspaced before you shoot it.

Dave, OUTSTANDING :Drool1: :Drool1: :Drool1: :Drool1:

But OMG what stories it could tell, I wonder where it's been sitting the last 100 years; sure hasn't seen much range time in the past few decades for sure. :2cents:

Just a Great find
