My new M39. First Mosin Ngant Impressions
Re: My new M39. First Mosin Ngant Impressions
Nice m39! They are really great shooters. I am in WI as well. Supposed to warm up this weekend. I am torn between gunshow or shooting some "new" rifles on Saturday.

Congratulations on your choice of Mosin Nagant rifles!
These are very nice military surplus rifles typically. Yours looks to have an exceptional stock on it. At least the photos leave me with that impression. The Finns did some great things with old mosin receivers didn't they. I am the proud owner of two of these and plan on more. I am sure we would all like to know how good it shoots for you. Remember to let us know.

Cool, what part of WI are you from? Yeah this has been an exceptionally brutal winter. I have a few other toys I want to take out to the range once it gets decent. I will give a range report of this M39 when I get a chance. Thanks again for the feedback, guys.Postby fintowin » Thu Feb 13, 2014 7:46 pm

Just a note: By you starting out with one of the best shooters in Mosin Land you have ruined all future purchases of the common 91/30 Mosins shooters.

Longcolt might be right, you might feel like you are downgrading to buy a common Russian.....wait, that didn't happen to me. After my M39 I still love all the Mosins. As for the handguard, perfectly normal as long it stays where it is supposed to be. We have weather predicted in the low 70's starting Saturday and at least all next week. Hmmm, perhaps a little shooting is in order.

If you're referring to a little movement in the side of the stock near the finger joint mine did that too. Didnt hurt a thing. As long as the action doesnt move in the stock your golden. Nice m39!
On Facebook? Check out the non-sporter preservationist group at: OOOPS. Deleted by Facebook because it's evil to even discuss collectible firearms on social media these days.
