Re: At gun show, need help!
The barrel stamps are nice and strong on that one. Nice find!

Sweet! I've yet to find anything other than post Second World War vintage refurbs at a gun show.
Re: At gun show, need help!
When I first saw this one there were two young kids looking at it and talking about sanding it down and painting it black. I just couldn't let that happen.

Great Rifle for a costly but I am afraid right price for the market today. Has the concentric circles cartouche above that one sling swivel and that is first time I have ever seen it there, neat! Stocked later by the Finns with a refurbished stock which makes me really have doubt about the supposed kill marks. I have a dealer friend who never sells rifles without kill marks on them does that tell you why I put so little faith in them being real. When I buy from him one of the selling points is usually but it has no kill marks on it yet. I would bet if you look real close around the muzzle end like under the front blade sight you will find remnants of import marks being it is a Finn most came in with them.
Those little screw that you mentioned as stated above are impossible to find exact copies of in this country. I can find find brass ones that are awfully close but not blued or blackened ones. If you go to the local hobby shop that is full service and handles HO trains they will have little black railroad track bed screws which are about as close as you can get. They have semi-rounded heads and are about an 1/8 inch longer but they can be used as replacements and not noticed. That will beat chasing your hand guard around when you take the rifle to the range. They keep the barrel bands in place and that keeps the hand guard in place.
Again Congrats as it looks like you got a good one. Bill
