New Winchester 52B

Yesterday I glommed a couple of .22 rimfires, including this 52B.

Only the auction pics for now. Better when it arrives

I also got a Remington 513T/Fecker scope combination at the same auction.

That looks like a lot of fun.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Good luck finding a steady supply of ammo :)

I had a good quantity come in just a week before Newtown, I just happened to see a sale and bought up a bunch, pure chance.

Someone on another forum suggested that it might have a "Canjar trigger". Is that good?

Here is a bigger pic of the trigger

This is a nice rimfire rifle. You can't glomme these too cheaply these days.

My phone word corrected glomme to glimmer. I meant glomme. As in you glommed a fantastic rifle. I am fascinated by the word. I never heard it before. Australian? Canadian? I like it.

The best I can come up with on the origins of the word is the Scottish "glaum", which is defined as "to grab or snatch at something" Seems to be a good fit.

I seem to recall that it was used by the Beatniks in the 50's, although I think it's use could have pre-dated the Beatniks.

The Winchester arrived along with the Remington at my FFL. Both arrived in good shape and appear to be "as advertised". Better pics when the 10 day wait is over.

Yeah...I'm having my FFL hold these rifles until the Winchester 52D arrives so I can DROS them as a lot for one DROS fee. I hate paying California anymore than I absolutely have to.

I finally picked up my rifles from the FFL and took some pics.

I also glommed a 52D. The 52B is not in as nice a shape as the D, but it ain't bad. Wood and metal are very good, with a few small spots of surface rust. Bluing on the receiver is not bright and glossy like the D.

Vaver sight seems to work perfectly. I've been told this is a Canjar trigger. It is very light, with no creep over overtravel
