That is a beautiful display of SKS's. I love my SKS and I didn't know much about it when I bought it. I knew it was a refurb with a painted bolt and metal parts but the only other thing I knew was it was all matching. When I shot it, it shot so smooth that I knew it was a keeper. Now I learn it is a BBQ painted refurb. Like you guys I wouldn't dare modify anything. I would love to find a Albanian model, and if I could find a nice one like yours Miller, I'd be one happy camper!

Thanks Bunkysdad, as for the Albanian there is one still for sale about 5 miles from the house, and I found a 2nd one for sale over in Florence KY today, but the one in KY they are asking 6 large ones....OUCH.... that is twice what I paid for mine.

Yea, makes you wonder why they did such a crappy job on the ammo.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

At 6'3" tall a real man needs all the length he can get on a carbine made for a 5'5" Asian. Thirty seconds and it's off and back the way Mao liked it, just like it came out of factory 6602.

By the way have any of y'all ever wished you had an extra inch?..............................on a firearm of course.

Yes, but not for extra padding on the butt end.

I have one of those on my AK. I'm 6'3" too. The extra inch helps.

I went to a small local gun show early Saturday morning. I commented on it already in another post...there wasn't much there and I came home empty handed. Today, talking to a co-worker who happened to go to it on Sunday afternoon, he told me a dealer brought out an Albanian :big shock: He said as far as he knows, it didn't sell. He did say he chatted with the dealer for awhile and the guy is going to be at another local show mid next month. I told my co-worker I want him to go to the show with me and point out the dealer! With the lack of mil-surplus activity in the area, there's a shot at this maybe?

At my gunshow this past weekend, there was one Albie, but the guy wanted $750. I told him that a 1970 might be worth $400-450. He didn't like that info, but it is what it is.

I put East German plastic stock set on my Maddi, it was a bit longer than what the Egyptians called a stock, but I don't remember how much, it was a long time ago. The Arsenal 95 is still new , I don't shoot it, but I think the stock is long enough, never had a Chinese AK, friend of mine did and didn't complain but he is 5'6 and skinny as a fence post.
