I picked up a really nice 03A3 a few months back for $450.oo. Only set back with it was some Buba as usual drilled 2 scope mount holes right in the receiver.
They've been covered by screws and looks not to bad but it still bugs the crap out of me...
I see other nice unwelded receivers with bolts for sale from time to time for about $130.oo
Would you recommend replacing it or just let it go as it is ?
Thanks
!
I would ignore the holes, otherwise the rifle seems to look just fine, the old saying of if it ain't broke then don't fix it. A couple of small holes don't mean broke, and will not cause any safety problems.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Keep it and find another that doesn't have the drilled holes
The commerce which maybe carried on with the people inhabiting the line you will pursue renders a knowledge of these people important ~Thomas Jefferson~ (to- Lewis and Clark)
Looks nice. Price was good.
I'm a shooter, not a collector. My 1903A3 is a Remington, 1943. It has the bolt serial number electro penciled on which I have been told indicates it's a Greek send back.
It most likely has not much collector value, but that's OK with me. She's mine!
