Melbourne FL Gun Show - prices
On vacation in Florida and stopped in today. Very surprised to find what I thought are high prices. Not a single 91/30 under $200 and hex's close to $300. A nice sniper for $950 geesh.
I am thinking I like the market in Pittsburgh. Might go back tomorrow and look again but was surprised at what I saw in regard to prices. Certainly didn't see any Mosin's moving.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

It's strange you say that as one vendor referred me to another and said to specifically ask for the palm beach price on a item. Hmm.tiberium51 wrote:things are a more expensive in North Florida for whatever reason, but the farther south it gets cheaper
Likely going again sunday for a little while and may try to get some specifics.

High prices equals low amount of smart buyers and sellers learn sooner or later or they find the sucker they are looking for! How many buyers do you think went in their with the thought of I am at a gun show so I have to buy a gun? I wager there were quite a few and they are who the dealers are looking for.

Most gun shows are hard places to find any good deals at all. I like going in to look things over, the prices I usually see makes me feel good about what I have stored at home.

MNs in central/south Fl are getting a bit expensive.

I'm in Satellite Beach (barrier island of Melbourne) and I don't even go to the local shows anymore. There's nothing to be had. I think I looked at that same sniper last year and had to laugh at it for the price. My best buy there has been an ammo can. Space Coast bullets has some nice ammo. That's about it.

Hey well, I am on vacation and heading back to the snow and slush tomorrow. Stopped in again today and documented the MN's I saw there:
91/30's
1926 Izhevsk Hex in a full metal escutcheon w/o screws stock, all matching, asking 379.
1943 Izhevsk Round all matching except buttplate asking 279.
1943 Izhevsk Sniper all matching asking 950.
1943 Izhevsk still in cosmoline asking 179.
1944 Izhevsk run of the mill asking 300.
One vendor had numerous 91/30's Hex's were asking 245, round asking 225 and a few lesser desirable asking 195.
Only one M44 seen at the show was a 1946 Izhevsk all matching nice specimen asking 325.
I am heading to Pittsburgh tomorrow - will be at Washington County show on Saturday. Will leave these prices behind. Prof

You keep thinking that way and I'll keep carrying home the $100 Finn M91's that I find often. By the way that price may make you feel good about what you have at home but look real close and see how much stuff sells at those prices. Not much I would bet. Bill
