I had a Norinco with both barrels. For some reason the 9mm jammed but the 7.62 did not. If you just want to burn up 9x19 buy a highpoint.

have a highpoint hate shooting it, hidden in the coffee table
Re: oppinions of the 9mm tokarev
I love shooting my 1953 Romanian TTC, but the days of cheap surplus ammo were over before I picked one up... I love the gun so I had to get a modern take in 9mm, just picked it up Thursday:

Haven't had a chance to break it in yet. Surprisingly though, the machining and bluing of the modern one seems a slight bit inferior to the 60 year old Romanian one.
My dad actually has the shortened M88A version. (His is also so new that he hasn't had a chance to try it out...)

I have owned one of the M70A 9mm since last March. Have put at least 600 rounds down the tube without any problems. This pistol will use any ammo supplied.
Pretty accurate as well. The safety is great too. The only two gripes I have are, one, extra magazines are impossible to find. and second, upon reassembly,
this model uses an articulated rod and longer spring and the darn recoil spring assembly can be a minor pain reinstalling.

I have a Norinco in 9mm, trouble is, I only had one magazine and the crappy plastic baseplate broke. It is the mag with the spacer built in it(not in the mag well). Can't find a damn replacement anywhere... I bought the darn thing 20 years ago for dirt if I remember right Oh well...

If you are speaking of the Zastava M70 in 9mm, clone of the TT types I can't say enough about it. I changes my CCW weapon from the TT33 to the new Zastava's. Just to give you guys that didn't buy the 7.62X25 ammo when it was 13 cents a round, there is hope. I know there is 35,000 rounds on a boat coming soon somewhere but it won't be 13 cents.
FREEDOM...USE IT OR LOSE IT!!

I have the Zastava M88 9mm and I like it a bunch. It is slim, easy to pack and is very accurate. It's also very enjoyable to shoot. Great little pistol! And if you have the right ammo, it is an effective round; contrary to what some think. If 9mm is a bad round, it certainly would not have survived this long. And it still reasonably economical.

+1 on the 9MM. I would wager, that besides .22lr it has one of the largest number of victims.Luthierseye wrote:I have the Zastava M88 9mm and I like it a bunch. “Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
