"Collectors Forum" - All Mosin Nagant are discussed here. Also the Russian and "Finnish capture" SVT38 and SVT40. This is an excellent place for new Mosin owners to ask questions. We have some of the best experts here looking forward to your questions. If you post a Mosin sniper rifle here, we may or may not move it to the sniper forum.

I saw this post on another forum and thought it was cool to see what everyone considered their best Mosin acquisition of 2013 so I thought I would ask the same question here. You can only post ONE rifle and blurb on why you believe it's your best pick up of the year. It doesn't have to be a rare one, maybe it was your first Mosin, maybe you got it for an incredible price, maybe it's just one of the prettiest examples you have ever seen. Post 'em if you got 'em!
I'll start it off by posting my most recent acquisition, a 1943 SKY M39 that I just picked up last weekend. It's my first SKY and has some great wood on it. I also got it for less than I've ever paid for an M39 which makes it all the more sweet!
I like that thread, glad you brought it over here too. My favorite buy of the year was the first of my trifecta that I found a few months ago. My 1942 VKT "B" Barrel Finn M91, built on a 1919 Tula receiver (Same one you saw at the range today Titanium Hammer!). This one was my first M91 as well as my first Finnish rifle. It also happens to be my best shooting rifle as well, which certainly helps it take #1 on my list.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I posted another item on GB, but here I will say...
Hackman M28 bayonet (blued blade) with 1937 dated frog (made by Oy. Veljekset Aströmin Valjastehtaat located in Oulu), from a nice young man who tools around here a bit.

Mine was not a Mosin either, my best find of 2013

No new Mosin for me this year, but I do love the new Ruger Mk III target pistol that I bought.
Here's to a multi Mosin new year for all of us...hopefully.
The same as I posted on Gunboards. An RGuns 1944 Tula PU sniper. Everything except the scope appears to be original matching with Cyrillic prefix-including the scope mount. Even though it's the only rifle I've purchased in the last 18 months, I still haven't gotten around to taking pictures of it yet. Way too much time and effort
Well, for me it would have to be my first Mosin. I still have two purchases left this year but for now my 1942 Izhevsk. The red lettering and being my first make her special.
