slip on butt pad

Post by mikeg1952 »

Ok....
Guys and Gals.
Can anyone direct me to where I can get a slip on Butt pad.
I bought one of the popular screw on ones, but did not like how it fit up.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Everywhere I looked online said this one fit the Mosin stock but I can't attest for it myself.
I'm broke because I buy milsurps. I'm rich because I buy what I enjoy.

I picked up the medium Limbsaver from WalMart for around $20. Oddly, it fits my M44's perfect but is too small for any of my 91/30's which is fine because the M44 is the only rifle that gets uncomfortable to shoot for me after about 30 rounds.

A Limbsaver in small should did the trick. I have one on my M44.

I use the one below from kalinka, when I use one anyhow. My friend has the limbsaver and its nice but I like this one a bit better. Easier to put on and take off and seems to soak up a bit more recoil energy. Fits all of my mosins. I have the smaller o e for the AK, not for me but for my kids!

Limb saver is the one I have for my M38's I have a torn rotator cuff that I don't have the time to have addressed right now and I don't want to give
up any hunting or range time, so the limb saver helps. I got mine at gander Mt. if that helps.

Standard forum disclaimer! :bwink:

Take your "slip on" butt pads off after you are done. Don't leave them on your stock. They can wreak havoc on the shellac and turn it milky color.

Shooting from the Caldwell Lead Sled (also used as the cleaning platform) is the way to go with "Older" shoulders! :shifty:

Form follows function... :vcool:

Otherwise, a good thick shooting coat meant for match shooting both standing and prone. :violin:
