The only thing you will find me sniping is auctions for shit on eBay

I never bid on eBay, I let my sniper do it with 5 seconds left, sometimes it doesn't work because my high $ amount wasn't enough but that's great because I didn't end up in a bidding war. Wonder how many people I have pissed off over the years by not even bidding but then up winning the item.

I have been surfing on You Tube again or in this case Boob Tube and watch old Bubba turn a MN into a wonderful modern sniper rifle. Best part of looking at those abortions is the comments people leave. Some of the general public praise Bubba for his skill but mixed in there are some comments where guys tell Bubba how he has ruined a historic weapon. I'm just sure that nobody here has ever told Bubba that he's a dill weed for what he did. Bubba will just say it's a hundred dollar rifle so who cares.

New guys who listen to them eventually figure out they were given a line of crap and then a customer is lost. A lot of these guys fall into the mall ninja gun "expert" category, many people who want a gun but aren't gun people are put off by them, I never let them get away with bullshit'
You got that right Craig, I got a lot of long range shooters but none of them is a true sniper rifle, only the Hungarian M52 is such a rifle.
If i worked at a gun shop id try to learn all the good stuff...I dont know it all and never will...but guns defiantly are fun..especially milsurps

It's bad for collectors to work in a gunshop, that's like a drug addict working in a drug lab, or an alcoholic working in a bar, you know how it's gonna end
The way eBay is set up you have to snipe or fall victim to the shill bidders.

I buy quite a bit on ebay, but I look for the auctions that are listed in the wrong sections or with misspelled headline that the regular search won't turn up. I bought a Centerpoint 3x9-32 scope with mildot, illuminated reticules, brand new for $2.00 and $10 shipping for my .22, can't beat that!

I sold a lot too until just recently, but their constant changes in charges left me wondering how exactly I owed that much, and their statements didn't seem to explain it too well so I took my sight tools off there, now I'll just sell the occasional yard sale junk that I need to get rid of.

i once had a guy try to tell my the taurus judge was chambered in 45-70 and .410. when i tried to correct him he refused to believe me, then refused to read the barrel because he said he knows it's 45-70 and not 45lc. :very mad:

Commercial guns are not much my thing, just tools I use. What was the revolver that was chambered for 45/70, I seem to recall something from the shotgun news long ago. That don't mean someone is going to bullshit me when I am shopping for a new shotgun, or .22, I am the type to file away what I was told and then go fact check it through sources I know. Trust but verify :)

I was browsing used guns recently and a high school aged kid and his grandmother (I assume) walked over. He picked the Enfield up (among a hundred non-bubba rifles), shoulder it, aimed towards the ceiling and then set it back down. His grandmother said..."what's that one?". He replied "I don't know, some sort of .22". She replied "How do you know?". He got perturbed and said "I got my hunting license in Billings, Montana!".
I hate how so many people my age have no idea what they're talking about. I feel blessed to have even a fraction of the knowledge most people on this forum have regarding guns and history about them. This is really the only thing that interests me anymore.
