Turned in some Southwest Airline points for Cabela and Walmart gift certificates Friday. I went into Cabelas ready to spend $240.00 for the Henry US Survival Rifle, and was surprised to learn it just happened to be on sale for $189.00. Man was I happy. I've been to the range twice now, and have it sited in perfect. I must have shot over 200 rounds through it already. It is such a fun gun.
FYI, the laptop in the pic is what I got with the Walmart gift certificates. It pays to stay on top of your airline points. Cat
Sweet Doug!! I had maybe 120.000 miles at one time and never used them. It was back before they did this type of stuff though. I was working to get a free trip. Never got there though and they changed the program.

Southwest treats me pretty good. My wife also flies with me free where ever I go, until the end of 2014. But she rarely does, because we just never have anyplace to go.

My cousin is a stewardess for them and the family gets buddy passes all the time. I don't fly anymore but when my daughter was young I flew her on SW every year. I flew to Maryland from California to pick her up every year but she flew back on her own. They were always real good. No BS airline. The miles I had were for United Airlines, American and Qantas though and spread out over them. It was hard to stick to any one airline because I was traveling to Australia a lot and the flights I took were based on price and where I left from. They ranged from SFO to LAX and went to, New Zealand, Sydney and/or Brisbane, AU. No way to just stick to one. Plus I had trips to Hawaii and other places here in the US. I don't miss flying. This was before all the crap you have to deal with now. I was in Australia when 911 happened and the security started to ramp up after that but I only went back down 4 times after that. I caught the beginning of the taking your shoes off and limiting what you can take in you bag stuff in regards to liquids. I used to take all kinds of stuff down with me and brought a bunch of stuff back every trip. Not now.

One in 7.62x25 would be sweet.
That's what I'm saying, I get its supposed to be for small game.. However something just a by more so you could use it for defense in a pinch would be perfect.
Hey Doug, here's a Henry rifle my neighbor (the one who's wife and daughter got those nice deer in the hunting threads I posted) showed me yesterday that he just got. Save up those miles because this one's gonna cost ya!

My wife travels a lot and her company allows her to use accrued points for herself. She travels Southwest and always stays at a Hilton hotel. I don't know when we last had to pay for a flight or hotel, it makes vacations cheap.

Other than it being a fun, cheap gun to shoot, I also got it because its easy to hide. You can bury it, or throw it in a pond, and it will hold up pretty well. Its a little "just in case" rifle.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
