I have a bigger dilemma, what's More valuable, my Finn M24 with the SIG barrel, or my Finn M27 with the Tikka barrel? I paid more for them than my New England Westinghouse or Remington Mosin Nagants.

I tend on just what you show us to stand with the opinion above. That is a very tough gun to find and as of late I have seen them selling for much above the prices you name. I also would find a way to buy them all regardless of where I had to sleep and eat for awhile! Bill :o

Westinghouse for sure. Buy all three and a three month supply of Ramen noodles!

My kind of answer! Not really possible with most women that I know having any input and that is another reason why I am single. Bill

:soapbox:
I would grab all four. Put $100 down on each and then you won't have to decide and would be a real sport to sell us the other three. Judi and her Mosin's ;mywink;

Thanks for the help. I would have never caught the fox arms receiver. I need to sell some replaceable rifles now to afford these. He also has a 1904 izhevsk that I never took a pic of.

The answer is easy. Offer him $1,000 for all 4! I can't believe someone could stumble into a choice of those 4! People spend months or years looking for some of the same examples you get to CHOOSE from! This will likely never happen to you again, unless you know the guy and you think he will hold on to them until you get cash to buy them one at a time!

He says 300 is his bottom dollar. If I want them for less I have to wait him out and hope they dont sell.

I'd have to go with the Remington, since I have the other 3, but that NEW is nice and and a second AZF marked Finn is not bad either.

If the man walked in the door today with these rifles he would have the $300 each, that's a fair price, possibly a bit underpriced on the US ones. Finn M91's are selling over $300 on GB most of the time these days when they show up at all.

I'd go with the Westinghouse, but I'd probably buy more than one. Looking at those rifles I'm guessing you'll have some rust maintenance to deal with. Maybe you can talk him into a package deal because of it.

Yeah they are going for $460 or so with an opening price from Milstuf on Gunbroker. I wonder who that is?

I would grab the matching Tula. Not easy to find these days and if it isn't Finn touched then it is worth the most if the others are.

If I had to choose I would go with the NEW though for my collection. That IS the rarest one there.
A Fox Arms marked and not a New England Westinghouse marked just sold for $875 here local and it is awful hard to get that much money out of there dirt poor hills. I would say the thing is holding a dang good value! Bill :o

On the AZF marked Tika, probably the only thing captured by the Austrians was the receiver. The Finn's bought rifles and parts from them to make up rifles of their own. So that receiver was probably bough either as parts or as a old rifle and they parted it out for the receiver. Then they put their Tika barrel on it. Any Tika M91 can be harder to find.

The Remington and the Westinghouse are the interesting ones to look at. I'd would love to know if the receiver tangs match the barrels, or are they mismatched? If they match, then I'd pick the Westinghouse. Tika second and Remington third.

I know some of you guys "never" take your rifles apart, but without doing that, you have no idea if the receiver tang matches the barrel (Westinghouse and Remington). On a [SA] marked rifle, that is important for collecting. Not the "end of the world", but a matching set trumps a non matching set.

Just my opinion and everyone's is different depending on what "you" need to add to your collection. :bwink:

I tried my hardest to pick up one particular Westinghouse but faied. The Finns had installed the barrel on a pre-98 receiver. Only antique Westinghouse I've ever seen snd I most definitely would have paid extra for that. When it comes to tang dates, on the old m91s, I can't help it, I've got to look.

I would do some kind of deal for at least 3 of those. The New is worth 300 easy, the Rem is worth over that and the peter is also worth 300 and the Tikka is right around 300. I would definitely consider the Remington as they seem to be the least encountered on GB and the highest priced when there, The New is a hard one to find with the fox receiver but are easier to find it seems. A non Balkans Peter is a big bonus and I would kill for one of those. Good luck but my choice would be Remington with deal to purchase the peter later.....BUT BUT I have a NEW already

I'm like you a bit. I would really rather own the "peter" one myself. It would fit more into my collection as I have all the others. Would be nice.

It may be hard to swing, but I would purchase as many of them as possible. Often, a bundle deal will lower the overall price of each individually. Also, its not like you are spending money. I would think its safe to say, by the comments so far, that these are safe, and pretty liquid investments. Put any one of them on this board for sale, and they would probably be gone in less than a week. Buy what you can, and I think you will thank yourself later.

Does matching numbers and no import on the peter put it over the top?
