Hello, another M-91 may be one of the other two russin makers or the french one, or may be one of the two america ones. Heck, sounds like a quest.. search for one of each. Hope the rest can be as nice as this one???

Great looking rifle! You're gonna love shooting that one. First round out of my first M91 and I knew right away that I needed more... For your next one, I agree with the above, try finding a nice American made one or a Finnish one! Those are the only two M91's that I've got. I still need to find my Russian...

neal45 wrote:Looks like you got a beautiful "Balkan" that has not been scrubbed. The metal shims under the barrel bands are the indicator of "Balkan" use. The arsenal mark stamping is nice and sharp.

Congratulations.
I was wondering about those shims - I've got a rifle with them also.
The "F" after the serial number is also a Balkan trait. All in all a very nice PTG M91! Congrats!

The Finns would sometimes take plugs from under the but-plate. I wouldn't just use glue. At least use the right size dowel rod.

Hey kam, go look at cat crackers he just got. Look at MT's comment on the holes. See if they are in the same area.

Yea I just took a loot the one near the butt is about 2-3 inches to far towards the neck and the 2 holes in the hand guard section are drilled right under the escutcheon and about 1/2 inch rearward of that... idk if that is just a bubba hole or something else.... I vote bubba though

Ya after looking at his links I thought so too. Thought just maybe it could be a good thing and didn't want you to plug them if they were an Austrian deal.
