I had to take the boy to the zoo today for the big Halloween deal. Of course we had to see the snakes. Big old rattle bug and a copperhead were there. I sat staring that evil little bastard in the eyes wondering if there was some way I could kill that sob behind the glass. At least rattle bugs give you a warning. Them coppers are just pure evil. However the rattle bugs have somewhat stopped rattling since the hogs hear them and eat them. So there is only one solution, small nuclear strikes on all snakes.

Hey BuckeyeSgt,
From one Sgt (US Army 65-68) to another, when you say rattle bugs can I assume you mean rattle snakes? OMG, man that small nuclear strike on snakes sounds interesting---are they available at Cabela's? :ugeek: A hog, hogs eat rattle bugs? Maybe I need to get one of those hogs for around here---but then again our friendly cuddly wolves might find them attractive.

 Oh ya those wolves are REALLY cuddly. Now we have run the gamit. The wolves are a the best argument against 10 bullets I know of. THey run in larger packs then that and then you might miss one or 2. I will take them snakes over the wolves anyday. I will have the seattle tards to thank for the wolf problem you WILL be hearing about next year.

Many cattle ranchers in this area have AR15s for one main purpose: wolves. Yup, I'd rather deal with one ugly 20' python than a pack of wolves. 10 rounds wouldn't be enough.

But I still get the creeps thinking about those snakes....wolves seem like a normal predator while snakes are....well they're snakes. :vconfused:

Coyotes. Pythons, Hogs and Iguana are a big problem down here. If I had come across that Python I would have ether gotten out of the Truck and shot it or run it over.
They have become a problem because stupid people buy them as pets and when they get to big so they turn them loose.

I would be catching them big snakes if I was there. snakes are great pets. We have 6 snakes atm in the house as pets. Coco, the big python that we let lose in the house when we go out as our guard snake :chuckles: My wife got her sister into snakes too, she has two Ball pythons of her own now. For some reason we don't get many visitors :vconfused: :big shock: We get a big dry ice packed box of frozen rats and mice about every three months. The UPS guy drops the box and runs. :chuckles:

Yep,sad thing is those frozen rats are cute. You put the rat in a big zip lock and submerge it in warm water for about 30 min. Then its yum time for the snakes. Here is where we order them from. http://www.frozenfeedermiceandrats.com/ Live rodents have been known to kill or at least hurt and or scar up a beautiful skin.

Whoa....wait a minute, you buy frozen rats to feed pythons?? Seriously, I really don't know much about snakes but I thought they needed live animals for food?? I'm so ignorant about snakes I can't tell if you are serious or telling a joke. :?: :)

Gawd, I'm never getting to sleep tonight....snakes, wolves, frozen rats, pythons, black snakes on gravel roads..what next?

Holy Cow :big shock: :big shock: :big shock: Sweet mother of God, there is actually a website that sells frozen rats and they offer FREE SHIPPING! And this website is offering "Specials" tonight---I didn't bother to see what those were. I'm shocked and just broke out another bottle of Jack Daniels for what promises to be a long night.

BTW: are there male and female snakes? Inquisitive minds want to know. :vconfused:

Ha, no I'm serious. We go to reptile trade shows too. Some of the rare mutated colored and patterned snakes will bring big money. Our snakes are reg. low budget kinds. :bwink:
Snakes don't care if its alive or dead, they are to dumb. if its warm thats good enough for them. My wife feeds them and its funny when the strike to close to her hand as she is dangling the rat from some tongs. She will let out a scream :chuckles: She has been bitten a few times but they let go fast and don't do much. Never needed any stitches. Ha, yes there are male and female. There is a probing tool :big shock: to use on them to see what they are. I'm sure you could You tube it

A probing tool? :o Uhhh, I'm gonna take your word on it and skip the youtube video. Man, this has been one far out thread tonight, one I'm not soon to forget.

A probing tool to determine the sex of a snake? Wonder how the snakes know the difference in sexes? :?

Gurn, all I can say is you're nuts! :D
We had a big party at Ohio State one time, about 9 kegs big. Some butt clown brought his pet snake. Another guy and I kicked his butt and snake out. 4 legs or more ok, two better, no legs it it needs to die. Was that the Animal Farm motto?

Yes for the bugs. If cabelas did sell the nuclear snake option I'd buy a few. Ya the damn hogs are everywhere and eat everything. Need a bigger nuke for them. And the yotes.

I'm still up here in Montana, worrying about creepy crawlers, frozen rats, coyotes, wolves (that's my fault for bring it up), pythons, black snakes. And now mushroom clouds, empty guns and being back in High School-naked. Before tonight all I had to worry about were a few black bears, an occasional grizzly and maybe a goofy looking moose---ah those were the days.

Let's see where did I put that bottle of Jack what's his name. :bwink:

I hand grabbed this guy early this spring. Nothing like that one in FL or LA, but it was a above average size. I hand grabbed it when it kept staring at the engine block on my little 20 horse. Most snakes around here catch high speed lead poisoning like this one.

I spotted him hiding in a clump of cogan grass I'm trying to bush hog around.
