"The Bruser"

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

These engines have been for sale for at least 5 years that I know of. They are sitting at a farm that is on the way to my gun club. They always make me smile.

Bit hard to fit them under the workbench :)
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I hear ya !!

My first gun was a replica 1728 St-Étienne black powder musket I bought because of my historical interpretation hobby.

It uses a 69 caliber lead slug and about 90 grains of black powder behind it.

That has a healthy amount of recoil to it so I really chuckled when I fired my '34 Tula for the first time. Recoil? What recoil?

I'm not sure what all this fuss is about when speaking of recoil and Mosin Nagants.

Mosins have no recoil that I have ever noticed :) Neither do Garands, Mauser's ,Enfields, Arisakas, Berthiers, Carcano's, K31's, Lebels, and so on.

I was blasting away with a M44 and the guy next to me was shooting his AR in 9mm and was complaining that his was "taking a bite out of his shoulder" . I asked if he would like to try a few rounds with mine and he declined.

If he can't take 9mm in a AR, then he better switch to 22 short or something like that.

You have got to be joking. An AR has no real felt recoil, even up to the 6.8 SPC, which is not the largest caliber... I would have told him to rub some MAN on it and shut up. :D
