Yes desdem has the best solution. Let us store them for you! No need for locks or safes :shifty:
Yeah, Like I'd fall for that from you two!

Before I let the State take them, I'll give them out on the forums as prizes or something! ;mywink; It's really not that bad here, you just have to know how to get around work with the law. :bwink:

Remove the bolts and place them elsewhere. Then these are not firearms, just a spare parts pile.
You're probably safe with the flintlocks.

Ooops, answered above. Hmmm...any dealers here that would sell you the locks at cost? Lowes always has safes on sale for Black Friday. Stock up.

Keep 'em. Bury them.

I just got an ammo can that will fit a few carbines in it. IT has a good seal and you could bury it if needed. I think it will fit 2 or 3 mosin carbines after disassembly. :D

Are they all keyed the same? Man it would take me forever to get the key to the rifle I wanted.

No I have a small set of metal stamps and stamped them 1 through 26. (thats how many I am up to) I will sell them when I leave
If you go through a FFL for any gun they want you to show a lock for it to take it home so when I bought the crate I figured they would want to see 20 locks just like every other time I bought multiple guns.

Cant you just use the ones you have from now on? Show them how many you need of the ones you already have and then take it home?

To be safe buy the safe... Or two if needed. Put them in the room & buy ones that are just within legal... Don't spend lots of extra $$$ on them. Good luck!

Not really from my experience. When I bought 5 guns at one time the FFL I used had me sign something stating the locks I brought in were bought for those guns. That's why even though I was using a different FFL for the crate I thought they would want to see 20 locks. So I bought 20 even though I already had 6 or 7, then they never asked if I had even 1 lock. :o I will have a lock for each gun just like they want even the ones in the safe, and the bolts are locked up for the crate.

All they have to ask you is if you have a safe.

I have three safes. (all full, but that they don't care about)

Then they ask you the name of the safe and how many guns will it hold and they write it down.

Done.

You do not have to buy 1 lock for each gun if you have a safe. You do have to have a safe that will hold 20 guns though.

I have a 03FFL so I don't usually buy from a local gun store here anyway. Not unless it is something cheap or I really want it. So all m y stuff comes from out of state (usually).

I'm reading now that the law I was worried about may have gone bye bye. I have to check that out, but you can bet it will be back next year......

Not asking for sympathy....not at all. But I'll be damn if I "cut and run" either. See, these idiots in this state are only in the big cities. They came from your states. 80% of them were not born here, but moved here. So I see no reason to make it easy for them and we will fight them. Most of these laws are going to be challenged in court anyway. We are pretty organized here and believe you me, that stuff in Colorado has got their attention also. But these laws passed before that happened and are on Brown's desk to sign. Some of them he will veto (he is a gun owner also), but he knows that some of them don't stand a chance in court. Others he will sign. Some he will not sign and he will do nothing meaning they go into law without his signature.

This one is expected to be signed because they claim it is a "safety issue" even though they have very few accidents in the state.

So, I'm just getting a jump on things. But, I have these firearms very well secured right now. But technically, not with there "approved

devices"......... ;mywink;
i was born and raised in CA. it will only get worse. this state is so liberal it makes me sick to think about it. their will be a endless stream of anti gun bills passed . i feel like a fisherman in the Sahara desert
