We all know the price of milsurps can vary greatly depending on where you live. I was hoping to get a general approximate value of this P-17 and any input on it. I'm using it as a chance to learn about these as my experience is very limited.
The rifle has typical dents and dings, has a Remington stock, and no import marks that I noticed. 10-17 barrel date. I took photos of everything that I could get to come out clearly. Bore is all gunked up. Hard to tell condition but it looks like a lot of it is cosmo. There are light tool/jaw marks on the front band like it had been clamped for some reason, but they aren't too bad. How much is she worth guys?

I would say they run in the 450 -750 range. I know a forum guy just bought one for 650 I think and it was in fantastic shape. There is a bubba in a store here for 325 with cut stock and smooth bore.
How much for the mas36 there?

The MAS is cheap because it's a bubba. I didn't look close.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Looked pretty good on gb and maybe the top line is higher and the starting line is a little higher also. Maybe a 650 median or so. seen a couple close in condition for 599 and up.

I don't think you would lose money on that. Have not seen an unbubbad 17 here for years. I don't think this falls in your limit though

Definitely not. But I'm always looking to learn and this definitely helps with that.

I checked just eddystones and they were up there on some. There was only the one Winchester and it was the highest ($1080). I know that these have been redone and are marked with the depot and the inspector? not sure if it has the year. A lot of the barrels are toast if not refurbed. Seems like I seen somewhere that the Winchester parts were out of spec sometimes and would not interchange with the other rifles until later in production.

That is a very good price if the bore is good, I haven't seen a decent US M1917 for under $600 in years.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I saw 2 today at the gunshow. One for 1300 and one for 950.

I'll bet you that they stayed there
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

I'm sure they did. The 1300 one was sure nice looking though. I didn't dare touch it at that price.

Milsurps vary depending where you live though a U.S. Model 1917 is pretty much bringing like everyone said $600.00-1100.00 bucks everyplace these days. I see a lot of high priced rifles at shows and on shop walls, one thing I never see, anyone buying at the top end of that price range unless in really great shape.
