Colt Peacmaker .22 LR

Post by Buckhead »

I have a Colt Peacmaker .22 LR and I am wondering if I can get a .22 mag. cylinder for it, and if there is such a thing for it.
And if so where can I get one and what would it require. And also how old is it?

You will probably get a quicker response here. http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/fo ... y.php?f=68

the .22mag bullet is just a c-hair larger than the long rifle. Could have pressure issues. The barrel for my Ruger single six is magnum and the long rifle also not as accurate.

Did Colt ever make these in a convertible model such as the ones by Ruger or Heritage Arms. For around 200.00 or so you can get a Heritage 2 cyl revolver set.

The Rough Riders are ok for the money, but they don't hold a candle to the Rugers.

Agreed. Has anyone priced Ruger Single Six revolvers lately? They are getting on up there.

I think I see most of them in the $450-500 range for used ones.

Colt Peacemaker Scouts are my favorite of the Scout series and I have a couple with both cylinders. These cylinders have to be fitted usually to insure proper function. I believe all Peacemaker Scouts have the larger .224 barrels so if you do find a Magnum cylinder you should be able to have a gunsmith fit it.
