Question about AK's?

Post by smacneighill »

What is a decent price for an AK? I see WASR's are running anywhere from $700 on up. Is this the new norm? Shoot, AR's are even coming back down in price. Are AK's the new "fad" now?

$700 for a WASR? Sounds a bit high to me... I would shop around a bit if your not in a hurry.

Yeah ... that's gunbroker (which this is the first time I've visited in awhile). I grew tired of the ridiculous prices on gunbroker so, I stopped looking, LOL!!!!

$700 is high for a wasr in my opinion. I believe it is j&g sales that has had the wasr and yugo ak's for around 600. Thats about what i gave for my wasr after taxes. I found mine locally for 550. I wouldn't have bought it if it was 700. The ak prices have come down a bit too. There are still alot of private sellers and local shops trying to get insane prices of a few months ago. The day I got my wasr for 550 I had stopped by another shop and saw one for 1k

I've seen them between 650 and 750 locally. They have slowly dropped from what I've seen, where a few months ago they were in the the 800 to 900 range. Again, there are deals to be found, you just have to look and dig for them.

That seems to be the norm here too greasemonkey. Thats why I grabbed mine haha. It was the lowest I had seen one in probably more than a year.

I've considered adding one, but I'll sit and wait till the price bottoms, the 450/550 range would be nice  Guess I'll be waiting a while longer.

Yeah, that's what I've been considering. My dad bought his before the hype (or hike as I like to call it) ... and paid only $450 for it. I've wanted one but, I refuse to pay AR prices for one ... unless it were a real AK  .

Its possible :D. Mine is proof of that. I'm still surprised at how nice it is too. I had looked at them before and seen some that were junk. As far as ak's go its a very nice rifle. Works fine and the fit and finish is pretty good in my eyes anyways.
