Finnish Civil Guard Museum - Seinäjoki, Finland
For all of you Finnish MN fans, you are certainly familiar with the Civil Guard M-24 "Lotta" rifle and the M-28, M-28-30 and M-39 rifles.
In our recent visit to Finland, my wife and I came upon the Civil Guard and Lotta Svärd Museum, which happens to be located across the street from my aunt's apartment. The Lotta Svärd was the women's auxiliary in the Civil Guard. The museum is on the grounds of the former South Ostro-Bothnian District headquarters of the Civil Guard, and was designed by Civil Guard member and architect Alvar Aalto. The museum is housed in two multiple story buildings, and contains numerous exhibits, photographs, and displays of uniforms, weapons, commendations, training activities, support, and notable people in the Civil Guard.
I would encourage anyone that has an interest in the Civil Guard to make every effort to visit the museum, should they travel to Finland. Information can be found at http://www.seinajoki.fi/museo/toimipaik ... useo_.html.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Guard and Lotta Svärd Museum operates in the heart of the city, opposite the market square Mall parking lot, a former municipality in the District of South Ostrobothnia the patron's House. The House was designed by the architect Alvar Aalto, and the Museum's three-building group is one of a wave of youth work.
The Museum is interesting:
In the middle of the floor of the Museum is the Lotta Svärd – organization and protection activities of the telling of the exhibitions. On the top floor of the House, is still preserved in the Etelä-Pohjanmaan Guard District Commander, infantry Colonel Steve Laurilan apartment. Yard House is presented to the patron of sport and exercise activities.
The Museum's exhibition space is reserved for the rotating presidencies of the downstairs in the exhibitions.
The Museum's courtyard is made by sculptor Pentti Aho, the statue of the priest Suojeluskuntalainen and the National Guard's son and a lotta relief.

Mannerheim and the headquarters of Seinäjoki-exhibition
The exhibition will be part of the civil guard and Lotta Svärd Museum perusnäyttelyä.
In 1918, the White Army, Mannerheim, led to the headquarters of the train, which was located at the end of March to the beginning of February in the city of Seinäjoki. For safety reasons, the train was surrounded by a high steel fence after Mannerheim was the victim of the assassination attempt. The network because of the fence from the headquarters of the nation called "chicken kopiksi". The staff consisted of several dozen individuals. Seinäjoki became a couple of months for a small rural base of the busy soldiers of the kuhisevaksi varuskunnaksi. The exhibition sheds light on the events of that time, Seinäjoki and throughout the country.

Thank you, for the translation since I don't read or speak Finnish, and went to the original sight and was lost with it's inability to translate to English.
