Hit the Spokane Big5 store today. They had 3 1942 Izhevsk's in stock. Bluing was great and machining was really rough. Typical refurbs from CAI. All were in post war stocks and 1 did have brass end caps on the hand guard. All 3 are still there.
Will hit Cabelas in Post Falls, Idaho tomorrow, on the way to the liquor store. Booze is way too expensive in Washington!

It booze is too expensive then start cooking your own
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Booze in Idaho is about 20-50% cheaper, due to really high taxes here. I do make most of my beer, but just because I like to. Anyway, Cabelas only had 1 MN in stock, a 1943 Izhevsk. They had a bunch of ratty Mausers from various countries for $600 up to $1000.
Oh well, no purchases this trip.
