My Long Awaited WZ-48

Post by catcracker »

This will be my last gun purchase for 2013. I need to rebuild my savings account.

I am so proud of this WZ-48. It was advertised as Very Good condition. I would judge it as near excellent. Everything in my eyes makes this a beautiful rifle. All numbers match. Edit: Interestingly, barrel bands are plum.

I purchased it from Eric, of ENM Sports, out of Mishawaka, IN. I really didn't put much thought about the vendor until I ws doing some WZ-48 research. Eric's name popped up on several search results. Turns out Eric has done some big studies on the production of these rifles. So he is an excellent source of information and supply of these training rifles. The link below has some interesting findings he has uncovered. He also has a survey page to track productions trends, modifications in production and parts, etc. If you have the time after reading this tread, its worth a gander.

Here are the pictures. I am very pleased with it, and can't wait to take it out to the range.

Thanks for visiting the thread.

But they started at $125 with no reserve. There is always hope of getting one for a steal. They are now at $250 with an hour to go. :vsad:

I got a "Very Good" all matching for 250.00 with shipping included. They are limited. So if you are truly interested, it may not be worth saving the 10-20 bucks on GB. Just my 2 cents. I am very very happy with mine.

Nice  :Drool1: I've enjoyed mine, it also came from Eric.

I picked up a barreled action sometime later, also in great shape and for a little bit of nothing, but spare parts are literally non-existent.

I love how these trainers actually look like a Mosin.. So many trainers have next to zero resemblance to the rifle they are supposed to be trainers for ..

They sound like a boring single shot. But at the range they are fun as hell. It's what I started my 9 year old on last year. You have to really think about each shot since you have to load and get back on the sights. It's one of my favorite shooters.

Go to the range and start with the little trainer, everyone gets comfortable after while, happily shooting away................

Then when no one is looking or paying attention :shifty: , you swap out, the first shot out of the look alike :big shock: :chuckles:

Very nice!!! :vcool: :vcool: :vcool:

One of the best parts of a single shot rifle. I regret not buying one of these... Maybe someday. For now I'll just have to play with my old Springfield model 15.
