I'm about to jump into the Black Powder world

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

I did see that. I'd never get an original. I've been happy with Uberti.

I'm a little bummed out. I bought a powder flask that has the kind of charger that you press down on. Unfortunately the set screw that you use to measure the increments was broken. I had to send it back.

Do you pour from the flask or into something else and then into the gun?

The owner of the shop I work at recently bought an original Walker Colt that was made in England off the Rock Island auction. A very rare revolver. About $8,000.00 rare. At least I can say I held one.

That would be from a later run of them, the original 1100 made for the Texas rangers are the ones that bring huge money in just about any condition.

As a rule always pour from the flask into a powder measure, and then dump the measure into the cylinder. One tiny ember still glowing in a chamber when you go to dump from the flask and you end up holding a hand grenade. Better if a flash happens it's with 30 grains of powder in your hand rather than 300.

Why is it that the JYD always keeps us from killing ourselves? :udaman:

I am just saving you for a much more exciting, and picturesque end that will be more interesting for me to watch when it comes over the news and youtube :devil2:

The only thing I want to smell in the morning is the fragrance of cooking bacon :)

Yeah, I saw one that was in terrible shape go for over $200,000 a few years ago too. I couldn't believe it for something that bad of shape. But there are so few "original" ones around.

They eat a lot of black powder if you load them heavy. But you wouldn't believe what one of these old guys can do to a 55 gallon drum full of water. It's impressive for black powder.

To me the kick doesn't seem that bad, I guess it is partly because of the weight of the pistol. Kind of hard to hold up and aim for an long period of time. I start shaking a little!
