Range time

Post by Gsragtop »

Been having a rough go at work this last week, and said to myself I have not shot anything in a while.. So off to the local indoor range I go. Can't shoot Mosins as its only a 25 yard range, and they are too powerful.. So I brought my iver Johnson 38 revolver and my Winchester 190 rifle.. First time shooting both..

Started with the Iver and at ten yards I could barely keep it on paper, I mean it was not grouping at all.. I must have been holding it wrong, but it did kick hard to the right with every shot.. I was happy though it went boom and cycled perfectly.. Just have to figure out how to shoot it..

The Winchester is another store, it shot like an old friend. At 10 yards the clusters were nice and tight and at 25 yards they were respectable. Shot .22lr and .22 long and besides the semi auto part noticed almost no difference in the way it shot..

All and all I was in and out in about 30 min, blew off some steam and felt much better.

It's been in the 90's here with just about that much humidity. Can't make it to the range but it didn't stop me from looking for some new prospects.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
