Welcome to the board.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Thanks for the links. The bolt assembly video was very helpful when I first broke it down.

Very nice! I am searching for 1940 Izhevsk, but the closest I can find are 41's
Love the stock on that one too

Re: New Mosin Owner!
Your welcome, I made the video because we had so many new owners having trouble with the bolt takedowns.Patient957 wrote:Thanks for the links. The bolt assembly video was very helpful when I first broke it down.

DDR? Kinda pushing it... Awesome stock though...Rups63 wrote:Very nice! Shall I be the first to mention the /1\ DDR stamp? Excellent find!
Re: New Mosin Owner!
Super gorgeous stock for sure! Good grief 125 more? You got to go back armed with a list of things to look for. I posted this on another link so here is a copy and paste. "Look for a 41 Tula, Izhevsk 1945 or later, a DDR (thats one with a 1 in a triangle), MO multi dated, and always look for a Finn capture recapture [SA] and then look for ex-snipers. If you can find one with two or more of these features then good score!" You can print this out too and take with you http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinRarity.htm
