Blunderbuss

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

Blunderbuss

Post by warhawk77 »

These things are awesome, and I want one. :Drool1: Yes I know I have a problem and no I don't want help to quit :chuckles:

A few questions on blunder buss.

Does anyone make these anymore that will fire?
Are the old ones safe to fire?
What are the ball park price ranges?

I thought about making one but that is kinda on the same page as a cannon. I would love to have one but people way smarter then me know what they are doing when they make them. Any of the steel pipe i might find to use isn't really designed for this type of stress. So I would be making a pipe bomb with one end open. I don't really want to risk that sort of "Hi Yall Watch This" moment.

Middlesex village trading post sells a few styles, all made in India, they will fire, expect around $500.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I saw a couple of them last year. Around 1700 for the one I remember the price of. It was pretty cool.

Yes going bang is 85% of the fun. Not going to the hospital is the other 15% :D

They used to load nails, and busted glass in blunderbusses. Not a precision weapon, the ultimate scatter gun.

It sounds very cool. I would bet most of the time I would fill it will just powder. I mainly want to feel the thud and see huge clouds of smoke.

But given the option I would shoot stuff I know.

Yeah i saw the price has gone up but that isn't a lot compared to some other firearms costs

You could shoot bird shot, or BB's out of it, even fill it with revolver bullets and let fly. Rock salt works also.
