Cool. I had a Super Blackhawk. My BIL bought it from me when I was selling guns. It's scoped and the blue mount was chromed and glass beaded by a friend, because SS or matching mounts just weren't available back in the early eighties.WeldonHunter wrote:Bingo! It's a 1981 Ruger Redhawk .44Mag with a 7.5" barrel loaded with 300gr JHP. I don't have the original rosewood grips. The guy I bought it from couldn't find them. Don't know about the sights. I guess the were also replaced. Not by me though. He did find the original owners manual and sent it to me later. It's a bruiser. That Garand is my favourite rifle. I'm going to take some pictures and post them in the Military Rifle Forum. It's a May/1944 Winchester receiver and is chambered in 7.62x51 NATO with a brans new barrel. It was given to me by my uncle exactly the way you see it.
300gr?! I didn't even know there were 300 gr bullets for a .44.YOWZA
