Considering what WASR's cost and the prices on "Tacti-cool" stuff that is not surprising.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Man, that's so true. Which is why, when I wanted to play around with some different "modern" items, I bought a WASR. I really don't consider a WASR a collectible, military surplus rifle. It's a modern rifle built with some surplus parts. Big difference in my mind. While my front trunnion IS built from a 1965 Romanian AK, the rest of the rifle is made up of new parts or surplus parts. If someone has a problem with that, then I'd like to know. I'd never alter an actual foreign arsenal built rifle, no matter how cool some new gadget might appear.

I like how my WASR turned out, actually. It's lighter than stock, even with an actual Russian TIP2 4X6 siderail scope on it. It also shoots as accurately as my Polytech and Norinco AK's.

The WASR is a modern commercial sporter like my Bulgarian SLR95, or Egyptian Maddi, play away with them, nobody will bother you for that here.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I didn't think so, but being a firearm purist at heart, I didn't want people to think I also don't have fun with the "black" stuff, either. The WASR seemed like a perfect candidate to mix new an old technology together. Here's really all the tactical firearms I own, in one pic. This is all I ever plan on owning, as well.

Very nice millman. I love the look of those wood grips on the Taurus. Classic look.

Not a semi-auto... but for when I want to put a fist sized hole in a zombie I grab the Benelli loaded with Federal tactical 00 :D

Oh I own black rifles also, I even have a couple of AR's, a Bushmaster XM15, and a H2 built on an essential arms receiver back before the ban, I used to have a Colt SP1 but I sold it for a shitload of cash back during the Ban and bought a pile of milsurps instead. Bought the AR's and the FAL's just to piss off Bill Clinton, no other reason, tell me what rifles I can and can't own based on looks alone will they, well they can just go and bl.....never mind.

Nice weapons gentlemen! I may have to do one black firearm someday, but I already have too many military surplues on the list. These photos make it very tempting though :)

I don't own any Tactical or "cool" or any black rifles....yet. I might be able to hold 'em off for a while with these though. If not I can try a few others I have and I'll get it right eventually.

Is that a Ruger (looking at the cylinder release)? What kind? The grip and front sight got me wondering, of course you could have changed them.
I so want one of those rifles!

Looks like a red hawk? The only sorta black tactical firearm I have is a saiga 12. I would like to build a ar-15 this year sometime if money allows. I also see a good many ak's in my future sometime.

Bingo! It's a 1981 Ruger Redhawk .44Mag with a 7.5" barrel loaded with 300gr JHP. I don't have the original rosewood grips. The guy I bought it from couldn't find them. Don't know about the sights. I guess the were also replaced. Not by me though. He did find the original owners manual and sent it to me later. It's a bruiser. That Garand is my favourite rifle. I'm going to take some pictures and post them in the Military Rifle Forum. It's a May/1944 Winchester receiver and is chambered in 7.62x51 NATO with a brans new barrel. It was given to me by my uncle exactly the way you see it.

You posted this as I was posting but you hit it on the nose. The picture is an old one taken with a crappy camera and doesn't do it justice. I'll take some better ones later and make a post about it too.

Sweet! I love the big bore rugers. Ruger makes a very good and strong revolver.
