I blame y'all for this, all this talk about .22's in the last week or two...lol
Honestly I have never seen one like this, but I now know its a very common rifle.. This one looks like new, just spotless.. I like the tube feed, Plus it says it can fire .22 long, short, and LR.. Any one knows if the semi-auto will cycle with a long round??
I picked this up for $150 (otd) which seems like a fair number.. What's your thoughts?? Any one have one?? I hear they are hard to clean.
For a Winchester, you bet that's a good number, around here I would expect to pay $200 at the least.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

I have a 270 which is the pump version. It shouldn't be too hard to clean. Buy a bore snake since you can't really clean these from the breach with a rod.Push out the cross pin and the trigger group will pull out the bottom. The bolt should follow it out. These were made from the mid 60's into the 70s. They don't get the respect, or command the prices of the older Winchesters, but they are decent shooters. $150 is a fair price. These where also sold under the Ted Williams, and perhaps JC Higgens names for Sears.
Here is my 270.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
