Only commercial ammunition uses reloadable brass, nothing military. US military ammunition used the boxer primer system, but the Europeans went with the Berdan system, as the Mauser rifle was used primarily by the Europeans and their customers in South America the surplus for it is Berdan primed.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

You are full of great info! Must be all those years of wisdom! LOL! I was partially joking because it is partially true! You do know your stuff  Does anyone make primers to fit these cases or is that just something you would find overseas?

Thanks, James

Berdan primers are made in various sizes , they are not near as common as Boxer primers, I know somebody on this board was experimenting with them, but I forget who.

Reloading berdan primed cases requires tools that are not used with ordinary reloading die sets, I do not know were to acquire them, I found the above link by searching the net.

All that I purchased way back when was Turkish, and it's been tucked away in the ammo boxes until I want to drag out the K98's and put some down range.

I have two huge Navy rocket boxes full of it, so heavy I need the forklift to shift them. Plus three or four .50 cans full.
