Fishing was good....

Post by Sgt. Rob »

Wyatt and I hit a couple spots the other day, mostly catching perch with a healthy dose of bluegill. Bass were not hitting at all. But the 11" perch was a good fighter for Wyatt, considering most of what we caught was small......

And one good sized bluegill.........

We go after trout next time!

That's awesome. How old is he? My ten year old and I hit up some native brook trout a few weeks ago. Had a great time.
On Facebook? Check out the non-sporter preservationist group at: OOOPS. Deleted by Facebook because it's evil to even discuss collectible firearms on social media these days.

That's the magic right there! Well done dad!

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

Wyatt is now eight, he has been a regular reader and poster on the forum since he was six. (why I get annoyed with occasional language, however this forum polices itself far better then any other). His two hobbies are fishing and shooting his own '40 Tula M91/30. We were going to go shoot today, and may still if the rain lets up. Fishing is his main hobby though, and this year we're both going to learn fly fishing.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I have a picture of my son when he was about 4 with his first bluegill. Priceless. Good job dad.

BTW, the bass are all up underneath those pads. :D

The young man will remember those kind of trips all his life. I know, I have remembered all of my life.

We know they are, but they were not hitting on anything, not even the little ones. May still be too cold for them!

That's great quality time with you and Wyatt he will defiantly remember those times. I miss those days with my boys. They are all grown up now and have lives of there own. We still do go fishing and hunting some times but not like the old days. Cherish these times Rob they are fleeting. It amasses me some times when we do get together and we talk about those times how much they do remember. It makes the hart feel good.
Oh by the way the sheath you sent me is coming along great I wasn't sure it would ever soften up but a lot of work and a lot of mink oil is doing the trick. I will send some pictures soon. Thanks again and enjoy your times with Wyatt.

Great trip Rob. The best memories of my childhood were fishing with my dad.

My oldest boy is already off to college, the second just a little over a year away from going. They do go by fast. I will need grandkids in about 8 more years. Don't mention that to my Wife!

Buckhead, I am looking forward to how that sheath works out!
